OverviewThe Binghamton University Linux Technology Center is the culmination of a significant amount of work by BU, IBM, STOC and Mainline Systems. We are pleased to form this unique partnership to develop Open Computing skills. The goal of the LTC is to set up a National Center of expertise in: Linux, open source, and open standards, to support and promote research, development, commercialization and contract work. The Center will work with businesses to help them use Open Computing to save on there IT and product costs. The Center will also work with businesses to move there software products to an Open Source base and to expand their products marketplace. Open Computing Services TeamsTo assist business’s in exploiting Linux qualities to expand their product offerings and/or reduce their IT costs. The LTC will provide student, Faculty & Grad-Student teams that will compliment or expand business development teams. Using BU’s Open Computing skills, our drive is to build opportunities for business growth, and establish an Open Computing Center of Competency .
